Daisy & Elizabeth know who they are. Each season, they find a new way to capture the spirit of their rock n’ roll aesthetic for their luxe-contemporary Brooklyn-based label. Specializing in loungewear, bridal intimates and swimwear, they’re creating a brand with a sweet attitude and pieces that are filled with doses of Americana in a sophisticated way.
They told us that for spring 14, they looked at the 1970 and “combined the fierceness of Stevie Nicks with the seductiveness of Pamela Des Barres.” They’ve also taken hints from men’s western looks and fused it with touches from rockers and groupies to create the season.
The beauty of the the collection is that it focuses on remixing classic vintage styles, peek-a-boo cutouts and romantic fabrications with versatile silhouettes. Their loungerwear can be worn as outwear, and the seasons must-have is the lace body suit which works for any special occasion undergarment but also layered; think cut offs and heels for a cool night out. They also offer a full range of staples like underwire bras that feature a sizing system and closure for support and easy adjustments. Turning to swimwear, they see it as an extension of their intimates collection which shows an exclusive hand-drawn print inspired by western fern stitching and leather etching in a patriotic color scheme printed in the United States. Standouts include their Break of Dawn fringe lace and georgette robe that’s easy enough to take outside of the bedroom and their Balconette top and Cut Away bottom swim pieces that are available in Delta blue and Wrangler red which can be mixed and matched.
