24 Days of Emerging Designers: theP

theP womenswear designer El Salvador

You’ll always find some sort of geometric prescription in Patricia Castillo’s label theP. Whether that’s sharp cuts, subtle details or strong lines, her love of symmetrical, architectural design is apparent. In her most recent collection titled L’Object Éternal, she uses the colors and longevity of stones found in nature as inspiration for her work.

In her third season, the brand has evolved to include more abstract looks combined with both masculine and feminine cut shapes like the boxy long black vest with subtle detailing and oversized styles that are easy to wear as statement pieces. She’s also introduced silhouettes with volume that are comfortable at the same time like the sleeveless jersey dresses with a v-shaped hem. Standouts include her color-blocked looks, prints that can easily be styled and paired with color and her cotton and leather shirt dress with an open back helping to make the season forward, sophisticated and chic.
