Alvanon Helps Shape the Future of Design with Parsons Fit Movement Program

Parsons Alvanon Partnership

Fashion design students at Parsons are getting one step closer to honing in on their fit skills. Alvanon, the industry experts in fit has collaborated with the school for their Fit Movement program.

The partnership provides students in the Parsons’ Master of Fine Arts Fashion Design and Society (MFA) program with AlvaForm fit mannequins to help in the development and construction process which allows for consistency, an invaluable component to design.

Alvanon also sponsors the BFA program with their Half-Scale AlvaForm mannequins at a reduced rate, allowing 300 Parsons faculty members, graduate students and undergraduates to use for their classes.

Shelly Fox, program director believes that the partnership is a natural fit. “Our students need to be working with high level equipment so that they are equipped to work with the best when they enter the industry,” Fox says. “The AlvaForms are a prime example. They will enable our students to create fashion that fits at the highest professional level.”
