Window Watch: Bloomingdale’s Goes Tech with the Virtual Style Bar

Bloomingdale’s has found a new way to engage consumers outside of their 59th and Lexington flagship store. The new Virtual Style Bar set up in the windows gives people the chance to try on sunglasses by Marc Jacobs, Fendi, Gucci, Prada, Mui Mui and Roberto Cavalli. Users must put their face up to an oval monitor and can then select the pair they want to virtually try on. The result is a reflection of themselves in the sunglasses which they can see from multiple angles. Customers can experiment with four pairs from each brand and have the option to take a picture that will be printed out at the sunglass bar inside of the store where they can also make a purchase. The Virtual Style Bar is active from 10am – 9pm to provide guests with a complete from outside-to-in experience.
