Grant Hewit wanted a high quality travel duffle with a clean look that didn’t break the bank. That’s what propelled him to start Hudson Sutler, a New York-based line of travel gear that caters to travel enthusiasts and gives equal praise to function and aesthetics.
With a background in finance, his next course of action included evening classes at FIT to learn the industry along with tapping into his retail insights from summers spent at J.Crew and Ralph Lauren during his college days.
Now, with a focus on the weekender, the brand has an assortment of bags for both men and women that are rich in color and designed with the details in mind: washable heavy duty 18 oz canvas, fun printed linings, rustproof resin zippers and durable nickel hardware. As Grant puts it, Hudson Sutler is for those 5 to 9 moments, a brand belief that sums up when life’s adventures happen.
I treat my weekender duffel like a favorite shirt. The scuffs and patina are part of what makes me love carrying it around. It tells my travel stories without me having to do so. -Grant Hewit
