When New York-based emerging designer Amber Patton started her line in 2010, it came out of a need to fill a personal void, but also one that hit home for many women. After getting married and becoming a mom, she realized that her wardrobe needs changed, and finding quality, fashionable clothes that were also affordable to fit her new disposition was difficult. That’s when the brand Amber Patton began.
Amber spent time at various fashion schools to hone her skills and drew on her fit model and retail background to develop the line. Taking into account that consumer need and the realities of new body types, she admits to being generous with the sizing and tells us, “I really do embrace curves.” The line also nails her vision for refreshing, affordable clothes and fuses a clean and classic aesthetic with her signature silks and draping techniques.
This season is all about sophisticated looks. Beautiful kaftans, blouses in rich patterns like the green floral charmeuse shirt and a range of wearable pieces. The sexy Tiffany dress in ice blue revs up a relaxed occasion and to contrast, the Seine, a ruched dress that’s sharp and flattering is ideal for the power lunch. And, when there’s need to go gracious, the Sophia provides a splash of Hollywood glamour. For fall, Amber was inspired by the Hudson Valley, as she calls it, “an urbanites escape from Manhattan” and is now showing another range of sleek pieces tailored for the new woman on the go.
