Daniela Deiana recently graduated from the London College of Fashion and is ready to develop her fashion business. While in school, she received first class honors and was selected as the Leathersellers’ Designer of the Year. This is also when she became fascinated with leather. She explains, “I learned that leathers can do more and I enjoyed pushing them to there full ability. I love the way you can do almost anything with it; mold it, stitch it, dye it, fold it and bend it. I then began to focus on accessories in more depth and my obsession began.”
That obsession has turned into a small collection inspired by photographs from her travels to India. Each design is dynamic in its own way and shows her aesthetic which channels a moody flair with a sophisticated tone and encompasses traditional techniques with contemporary designs. Her pieces are made from vegetable tanned leather using macramé detailing and weaving in black with subtle splashes of color like her drawstring shoulder bag and matching necklace which show streams of tantalizing fringe and are textural pleasers indeed.
Now, Daniela balances her time by developing her collection and with designer Ally Capellino, where she interned and now works. She admits that this is where she learned the ins and outs of a small business, and with her experience here and education, she is ready to turn her brand into a success.
