Brenda Equihua wants to redefine eveningwear by taking a relaxed, fun approach. She calls it California cool with a luxe hand and eclectic spin.
Her debut collection titled Nostalgia does exactly that. A Tetris print silk chiffon gown is just one example of her refreshing take that translates well onto wide leg pants and dresses. The Los Angeles-based and Parsons graduate dug deep into her childhood to harness a time when her creativity was heightened to come up with her custom prints. Melted stripes à la a box of crayon’s that crafted a linear design and an 8-bit digi flower are also a part of the story.
Strong colors and unabashed prints in wearable silhouettes that fall with both gentle and dramatic flares like her pendulum cascade skirt cater to a variety of body types and style preferences.
Our collections offer an eclectic assortment for that unabashed woman whose style knows no confines!
Her experiences at Monique Lhuillier, Tadashi Shoji and Juan Carlos Obando helped to shape her path. For her label Equuiha, Brenda’s approach to design starts with taking something traditional and making it relevant like remixing up a ball gown to something fun and lightweight or a new take on a classic white shirt. She told us that her philosophy is to create with love and preserve artistry working closely with artisans on the quality and execution of garments.
