“Futuristic glamour meets Art Deco.” That’s how Joanne Stoker describes her shoe label. Her spring-summer 2013 collection, presented at the Somerset House as part of London Fashion Week is rightfully named the Rockaway Jitterbug and shows an upbeat mix of platforms and pumps and variations on the heel shown on flats with whimsical geometric shapes and stripes.
In her third year, there’s a reason why she’s quickly becoming known for her architectural aesthetic. The Fandango, a t-strap platform with a Swarovski Crystal candy cane like heel in a shiny red and black patent leather is new for the season and is a glistening stand out. Joanne also plays with interesting materials including geometric holograms and a herringbone print paired with raffia in several colorways. Other styles included laser cut outs and an eye-catching gingham platform. For the carefree theatrical, there’s no doubt that these shoes are fit for the Coney Island boardwalk to the beaches of the Copacabana; just some of her inspirations, but will also keep her woman sharp and smashing in a classic meets modern collection fit for everyday playful excursions.
