Katie Deguzman and Michael Miller have a good story to tell. They met at Parsons, flourished in design and then created an edgy, fearless fashion label after they spent time in the industry working with some of the strongest jewelry labels. Their new line K/LLER has been out a few seasons and has landed in stockists such as Barneys and Helmut Lang.
This early success may be due to their strong point of view. Their fascination with rusted tools, androgyny and alchemy led them to what they call a “subtly bohemian with a biker-chick aesthetic.” Now, with a collection grounded in organic subjects like fish jaws, horns, petals, porcupine quills and feathers, these raw materials cast in gunmetal and brass are wearable, sculptural pieces. Made to be layered, worn everyday and for that unabashed statement, their earrings, bracelets and necklaces are undoubtedly killer.
