As an emerging designer, doing your own PR is not only possible, but is also something you should consider for several reasons. Budget constraints may prevent you from hiring and agency. It’s also important to build your own relationships with editors and bloggers. Your network is imoprtant and should include the media. And, as an entrepreneur, being able to know how every facet of your business works is vital to the overall success of your company.
Danika Daly, Founder of Danika Daly PR is hosting the first Fashion PR Confidential workshop that will be held on March 2nd and 3rd in New York City. The 2-day intensive workshop will go into the details and secrets of fashion PR that her team lives everyday.
Attendees will be equipped with the tools to make their public relations plan strategic and effective. The workshop will offer a hands-on learning experience and is capped at 25 attendees. The basics will be covered, but the major of content will focus on intermediate and advanced topics such as:
- How to create the perfect media list
- Pitches versus press releases and how to tailor them
- Cracking the blogger code
- Branding yourself
- Ins and outs of internships/jobs
- Breakout sessions
People with little experience in public relations will leave the course with a much better understanding of the field, helping them to land press, an internship or a job.
Those that register by January 2 will receive $50 off and they will give one spot away on Facebook. Learn more at Fashion PR Confidential.
