To keep your eye on the bigger prize and turn your goals into accomplishments, make sure to set yourself up for success. While it’s easier said than done, here are a few ways to help you get there:
1. Write Your Goals Down
When you put pen to paper, you become one step closer to commiting to your goals. This is because your goals are not fleeting, meaning that it isn’t a short-lived wish or inside of your head. You can also see it, read it and reference it, which will hopefully get you excited to make them happen.
2. Work Backwards
Sometimes, we look at goals and think their too lofty or wonder how we are going to get them done.
Instead of trying to figure out your first step, try working backwards by asking yourself what are all the steps you need to take to reach your goal. This exercise will help you realize how you can get to the end result and serve as your roadmap.
3. Find An Accountability Partner
When you’re the boss, it’s easier to let things slide. No one is holding you accountable for getting tasks done or in a timely manner.
To make it a bit more difficult to dodge your own self, find someone who will hold you accountable for tasks and ultimately, your end goal. This could be a friend or colleague, a parent or someone who is on your team. It could also be a new found Instagram friend!
4. Celebrate Small Victories
Accomplishing your goals will take time and that’s why it’s important to celebrate small victories whether they happen each day, week or month. Also keep in mind that your entrepreneurial journey will constantly evolve and going easy on yourself with a bit of recognition is a must.
