WGSN, the world’s leading fashion forecasting company is looking for emerging designers, design teams and retailers for the 2013 WGSN Global Fashion Awards. This honor recognizes and rewards talent and innovation in the fashion industry on a global scale in apparel, accessories, brick-and-mortar retail and e-commerce categories.
The awards for individuals include:
The LYCRA® Future Designers Awards
Applicants must submit designs (sketches, mood boards, etc…) of four to six looks that could be manufactured with LYCRA® fiber products. At least three of the designs/pieces must be made up of intimates, swim, active sportswear or hosiery/tights.
To qualify, applicants must be a current student (or have graduated in the 12 months since June 2013) from a recognized fashion/design school on any fashion design course. Please provide the name of your college and your course with your application.
Footwear and Accessories Designer Award (must be nominated)
Honoring the designer that understands that accessories can define a trend and excite the consumer, this list will come from industry nominations and a group of expert panelists will select the winner.
Catrice Womenswear Designer Award (must be nominated)
This award is for established and emerging designers that “set the agenda for the rest of the industry.” This list will come from industry nominations and a group of expert panelists will select the winner.
Menswear Designer Award (must be nominated)
Whether the head of a global design house or emerging talent, this designer will push the boundaries in menswear. WGSN will ask industry representatives from around the world to nominate designers and a group of expert panelists will select the winner.
Avery Dennison Emerging Designer Brand (details coming soon)
