Are you a GIRLBOSS? If you answered this question with an unequivocal yes, then it’s your time to apply to the GIRLBOSS Foundation for a chance to receive anywhere from $500 – $15,000. For those that may not be familiar with this term, it’s the name of Sophia Amoruso’s book on how she took her eBay business and transformed it into Nasty Gal, one of the fastest growing online retailers.
The GIRLBOSS Foundation will give out three to five grants per quarter to female creative entrepreneurs in design, fashion, music and arts.
Here’s how it works:
The selection committee will be made up of various departments at Nasty Gal including design, marketing, finance an tech led by Sophia Amoruso. They will that meet quarterly to review applications and grants will be given based on the following criteria:
- Demonstrates creativity and innovation in the specific field (30%)
- Demonstrates business acumen and forward planning (30%)
- Demonstrates financial need (30%)
- Proposed timing, work plan, and budget are clear, detailed, and achievable within the next 12 months (10%)
