Open Call: Design Entrepreneurs NYC 2015 Class

Design Entrepreneurs NYC

Design Entrepreneurs NYC, the mini-MBA program created by FIT and the New York Economic Development Corporation (NYCEDC) is now accepting applications for their 2015 class. The open call is for New York City-based emerging and established designers looking to grow their business.

Now in its fourth year, the free program immerses a select group of 35 fashion companies into the business of fashion. In June, participants will take weekend intensive courses on marketing, operations and financials taught by industry experts and FIT faculty. Designers are also paired with a mentor and have access to FIT resources and summer classes. In October, 12 companies will present their business plans and compete for cash prizes.

Designers will also have access to a strong alumni community which includes: Parke and Ronen, Chromat, David Hart, Wwake, Nikki Chasin, ISLYNYC, Upstate, Bond Hardware, A-morir, Harare, Titania Inglis, Andrea Bocchio, W.Britt and many others.

Application criteria
  • A New York City-based fashion business
  • A least a year in business with industry traction (press, sales, etc…)
  • Must be able to attend weekend sessions
