Open Call: Design Entrepreneurs NYC Recruiting for the Class of 2014

Design Entrepreneurs NYC

Design Entrepreneurs NYC, a mini-MBA program developed by FIT and the NYCEDC has launched their open call for the 2014 class. The program, now in its third year selects top industry talent to be a part of this free initiative.

Designers will participate in spring/summer weekend intensive learning sessions (finance, operations, marketing) be mentored through the summer and have access to FIT resources. Designers will work on their business plan and compete for two prizes: $25,000 and $10,000.

Requirements include:

  • Have a NYC-based fashion design business (womenswear, menswear, childrenswear, and/or accessories)
  • Have been in business for at least one year
  • Demonstrate traction in the industry (e.g., press coverage, sales, etc.)
  • Commit to attending all mandatory events (e.g., kick-off, weekend intensives, presentation skills workshop, closing event)

The deadline to apply is March 31, 2014.
