MANGO, the international womenswear retailer based in Spain has announced their open call for the Fifth Edition of the MANGO Fashion Awards. Recognizing that new fashion talent needs a venue to be recognized and rewarded, their goal is to provide “a new media platform for emerging talents and offer them the opportunity to produce and market their collections.”

Mango has collaborated with five fashion design schools for the competition: Central Saint Martins School of Art and Design (London); the Escola Superior de Disseny, ESDi (Barcelona); Institut Français de la Mode (Paris); Istituto Marangoni (Milan-Paris- London) and Koninklijke Academie voor Schone Kunsten van Antwerpen (The Royal Academy of Fine Arts of Antwerp). Members of the school will be a part of the juried committee which will select 10 finalists.

How it Works

Designers must submit the following:

  • Application with essay
  • Previous work from two collections
  • Sketches from Spring/Summer 2014 collection
Requirements

The MANGO International Fashion Awards are open to young fashion designers worldwide who satisfy these two basic requirements:

  • 35 years old or younger
  • Have already marketed/launched their collection (locally or on small scale scale)
  • Applicants who have not marketed their collection but have at least 3 years experience in the fashion industry may also participate in the competition, as long as they can show proof

Both finalists and the winner will receive a cash prize. The deadline for submissions is May 15, 2013. Learn more about this open call at Mango Fashion Awards.
