Open Call: Owners Holiday Pop-Up Shop in New York

Owners is a curated pop-up with a focus on women-owned, sustainable brands based in New York. They are looking for ready-to-wear, knitwear, accessories, jewelry, skincare, ceramics, and home goods designers to participate in their next pop-up shop during the month of December at the Refinery Hotel in the Garment District. 
 
Created by Deanna Ansara, founder of womenswear label Vincetta Studio, the retail concept helps niche brands serious about building their direct/e-commerce businesses. As an emerging designer, Ansara has been participating in pop-ups since 2014 and learning along the way. She is taking her collective knowledge and insight into the retail industry and addressing business challenges for entrepreneurs to build the concept. 

To-date, Owners has launched in four locations across New York City including Williamsburg, Brooklyn along with SoHo and the Flatiron District in Manhattan. Over the past year Suzanne Rae, Kordal, Faeber, Plante, Voz, Arteaga, Grammar, Desmet and many others have participated.

Brands selected into the pop-up are based on aesthetic, values, quality, and thoughtful production. They are focused on bringing brands together and providing a platform to acquire new customers and build brand exposure on and offline.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Women owned brands with sustainable and ethical practices
  • Brands with a focused direction and consistent messaging
  • Open to all, but more of a focus on New York-based labels

How to Apply 
 
Email Deanna at shop.ownersny@gmail.com with the following information:

  • Sustainable initiatives and values with brand
  • Website and Instagram handle
  • Years in business
  • Product category
  • 2-3 sentence brand description – no more than 50 words
  • Current percentage of direct-to-consumer business
  • E-commerce (average shipped per month or per quarter)

Pop-Up Shop Details

  • Location: Refinery Hotel, 63 W. 38th Street, New York

One Month Pop-Up

  • Dates: Dec 1-31, 2018
  • $1550 for the full month per brand  + 10% commission 
  • $775 due upon acceptance / $775 due by Nov 10

Two Week Pop-Up

  • Dec 1-15 & Dec 18-31, 2018
  • $950 per brand + 10% commission 
  • $475 due upon acceptance / $475 due by Nov 10
