Open Call: Redress 2018 Design Award

Redress, the Hong Kong-based NGO that seeks to reduce textile waste in the fashion industry has announced their open call for the 2018 Redress Design Award, (formerly, the EcoChic Design Award) the largest sustainable fashion competition in the world.

Open to emerging designers worldwide with less than 3 years of experience or students attending a college or university, this annual competition gives design talent the opportunity to learn, collaborate and expand their design perspective.  

Application Criteria 

  • Emerging fashion designers 18 years of age or older 
  • Less than three years of professional experience or enrolled in a college or university 
  • Open to participants globally 

Prizes 

Grand Prize 

  • A trip to Hong Kong to participate in the Grand Final Fashion Show
  • Opportunity to create an up-cycled collection for The R Collection, a new fashion brand sold at Lane Crawford and Barneys  

Second Prize 

  • Mentorship with designer and competition judge Orsola de Castro
  • A trip to Hong Kong to participate in the Grand Final Fashion Show
