About the opportunity
They have an exciting opportunity for fashion lovers looking for real hands-on experience with an immediate start for a spring internship. Candidates must be enrolled in a fashion design program or recent graduates with great organization and construction skills. Tech design skills are a plus (patterns, spec sheets, the like). We’re especially interested in candidates with experience in Illustrator and InDesign!
You will be working directly with the designer, playing a key role in studio operations (hand sewing, social media, marketing, swatches, beading and trims, helping lay out fabrics, cut patterns, field emails to and from suppliers…). You’ll also be learning the ins-and-outs of the garment district, wholesalers and lace suppliers. Excellent communication skills are a must!
This is not a position for someone looking to spend their internship experience going on coffee runs and organizing zippers and buttons. You will be part of a wonderful and growing team, and a fun and informal environment, but very hard working!
Some other responsibilities include:
- Material sourcing
- Preparing collection presentation materials
- Helping prepare for Bridal Fashion Week event
- Aid in keeping the studio organized- fabric and trim sorting
Please be available to commit 1-2 days per week for a 3 month minimum duration
Lunches will be provided; can be taken for school credit.
