Sign Up for Fashion Culture Programs at FIT this Spring

The Museum at FIT recently announced their spring 2012 lineup of Fashion Culture programs. The programs are free and provide you with access to some of the industry’s most respected names in fashion. Here are some of the highlights:

Lecutures

The CFDA at 50: The Presidents Speak – Hear Diane von Furstenberg discuss her work at the CFDA, the evolution of the wrap dress and commitment to the industry and emerging designer. Tuesday, March 6 from 6-8pm

In Conversation: Bob Mackie and Hal Rubenstein  – Listen to designer Bob Mackie and InStyle Fashion Director Hal Rubinstein talk about their careers in fashion. Friday, March 9 from 6-8pm

Look at Me: Fashion Photography: Documenting the Evolution of the Modern Women – Photographer Cathy M. Kaplan, Etheleen Staley, Deborah Tuberville and Vince Aletti discuss the roles of women in contemporary photography. Tuesday, March 13 from 6-8pm

The CFDA at 50: The Presidents Speak – Hear Oscar de la Renta discuss his journey with fashion and commitment to American design. Thursday, April 19 from 6-8pm

Films

Marc Jacobs & Louis Vuitton: Watch a film on Marc Jacobs showing his role at his own brand and Louis Vuitton. Tuesday, February, 21 from 6-8pm

The Day Before: Proenza Schouler: A film that shows how Lazaro Hernandez and Jack McCollough prepared for their debut fall 2009 line. Thursday, February 23 from 6-8pm
