Congratulations! You’ve made it through the first six months of the year and now have the next six to end with success. To do this, it’s important to reflect on your accomplishments and also plan for the future. You should also do a little brand maintenance and check-ins.
Here are a 4 things that you can do at as part of your midyear assessment:
1. Reflect on your accomplishments
Sometimes it’s easy to forget about all of the good things that happen because you’re trying to run your company. Take the time to write down what business successes you’ve had such as press mentions, sales, celebrities wearing your product along with awards. Once you’ve gathered this information, try merchandising it on your website, on Instagram Highlights and also sending out a newsletter to your customers and retailers because everyone wants to know about a business that has traction.
2. Check your social media accounts
Visit all of your social media platforms to see if they they are optimized. Make sure links are working, are directed to the right destination and that your bio is updated to reflect what you’ve done throughout the year. Also see if these platforms have new features. Instagram is constantly updating their app so be sure to turn on auto updates in the App store and take advantage of these tools.
3. Plan the remainder of the year
Try to map out your business for the next six months identifying sales, marketing, PR, and overall business goals and develop an action plan on how you will get there. This is a great exercise to do because it creates accountability.
4. Follow up with contacts
This business is about staying top of mind with people in your network along with customers. Try connecting with individuals that have impacted your business by sending them a friendly hello so that you continue to foster that relationship.
5. Take time for you
Needless to say, you’ve been working hard, so this is also an ideal time to plan out a vacation, time to relax, get inspired, have fun and clear the mind so the months ahead will be healthy and productive.
