HootSuite, the application that lets you manage a variety of social media accounts now allows you to schedule your Instagram content.
With this new feature, brands can save a lot of time, but will still have to hit share on Instagram to post a photo. For example, if you want to post photos at 10am, 3pm and 8pm, you can load these images into your HootSuite dashboard and at these times, HootSuite will send you a reminder to share them.
Here’s how to set up Instagram in HootSuite:
- Log into your HootSuite account and connect your Instagram account with the platform.
- You will have to download their app and connect your account again.
- Start scheduling your copy and images. While you won’t be able to filter your content, you can still work around it with this quick tip:
Instagram TipSince you can't filter your photos in photos in HootSuite, you will have to upload them already edited. One way to get around this is to put your phone in airplane mode and use Instagram to edit your photo. Hit share and you will receive an error that says failed. If you allow Instagram to store your photos to your library, the photo will be saved there. Just don't forget to dismiss the error so it won't post it when you take your phone off of airplane mode.
The benefit of using this tool is that you will have your Instagram images and copy scheduled in advance and in the same location as your other social media content.
