Emerging Designer Spotlight: Jordan Louis
Kimberly Sherer describes her New York-based ready-to-wear label Jordan Louis as comfortable luxury. After working with names such as John Varvatos and Nili Lotan, she's launched with a collection that is reflective of her tenure and work with suiting.
Inspired by Frank Lloyd Wright, the collection is modern and shows what happens when fabrics are allowed to fall into place. Kimberly says the collection allows women to be "put together, elegant and comfortable."
What stands out is her denim. And, it's not because of her full range of silhouettes. From thoughtful design details, novelty bodies and fabric combinations that woman can live in, she's charmed up a necessity. The super stretch utility jean is just one example and the leather-suede merlot combo is paneling done just right. Plus, the price point lives in the contemporary market, giving her woman access to these fresh designs.
Rounding out the collection, there are a variety of tops made from Italian fabrics: a cascading blouse, sharp dress shirts and a high-low shirt that seamlessly fits into the mix. She's also found the answer to the dress pant; both her slim and skinny trousers flatter the body and compliment with the rest of the line.
