Fall 2014 Fashion Culture Events at the Museum at FIT
This fall, the Museum at FIT has organized another series of lectures and events free to the public. From in-depth talks with historians, authors and today's fashion influencers, there's plenty to learn during the next few months.
1. Exposed Talks and Tours
Learn more about Exposed, The History of Lingerie. Colleen Hill, associate curator of accessories, traces developments in intimate apparel from the 18th century to the present, showing that as the relationship between dress and the body has been redefined over time, so too have the function and appearance of lingerie.

A pioneering figure in film and video for more than four decades, Charles Atlas will screen films of his work with choreographers Merce Cunningham and Michael Clark, and his latest documentary, Turning, a collaboration with Antony and the Johnsons. Joining him will be Michelle Handelman, FIT associate professor of Film, Media, and Performing Arts .

How artisan-focused companies foster economic development will be the focus of a lively discussion with Adrienne Chaillé of Green Design Link; Annie Millican of Dara Artisans; Jasmine Aarons, CEO and design director of VOZ; Emily Green, founder and lead designer of emiLime handcrafted; Luna Lee of the Social Consciousness Department at Eileen Fisher; and Dr. Regina A. Root, associate professor of Hispanic studies at the College of William and Mary.

10. Poupie and Patricia Cadolle in Conversation with Colleen Hill
Join Colleen Hill, curator of the exhibition Exposed: A History of Lingerie, for a conversation with Poupie and Patricia Cadolle about their family-run business, founded in Paris in 1889 by Herminie Cadolle—an early advocate of the modern brassiere. Cadolle is one of the few lingerie brands that continue to offer couture lingerie.
