"Fashion Talks" Lecture Series at Pratt This Fall
Pratt Institute’s Fashion Department is back with their fourth annual lecture series titled “Fashion Talks: Exploring Fashion and Culture with Professor Kim Jenkins. A Visiting Assistant Professor of Fashion, Jenkins will sit down with influential fashion and culture constituents to discuss a variety of topics in the fashion industry.

"Fashion Talks: Exploring Fashion and Culture with Kim Jenkins" kicks off a new season, gathering a panel of luminaries who are reporting, theorizing and visually capturing the latest in fashion from the front lines. Kim Jenkins, Visiting Assistant Professor of Fashion, will hold a panel discussion with curator and fashion historian Elyssa Dimant, Katharine K. Zarrella, senior editor of V Magazine and VMAN and fashion portrait photographer David Needleman.

Kim Jenkins, Visiting Assistant Professor of Fashion, will sit down with Minh-Ha T. Pham, Assistant Professor of Media Studies at Pratt Institute and author of the blog "Threadbared" and Adrienne Keene, Postdoctoral Fellow affiliated with the Center for the Study of Race and Ethnicity in America at Brown University and author of the blog "Native Appropriations" to discuss the issue of cultural appropriation in the fashion industry and popular culture.

As the fashion industry begins to embrace "genderless fashion" and identity fluidity, Kim Jenkins, Visiting Assistant Professor of Fashion, will discuss new concepts in menswear with Telfar Clemens, designer of TELFAR and the editorial aspects of identity construction through design with Felix Burrichter, founder of PIN-UP: A Magazine for Architectural Entertainment.

Kim Jenkins, Visiting Assistant Professor of Fashion, will sit down with designer and Pratt Fashion grad Adam Selman to discuss his career path and the success of his eponymous label that has gained a celebrity cult following.
