ISLYNYC is Looking for Design and Marketing Interns

The goal of the ISLYNYC internship program is to give students eager for experience at the cutting edge of the contemporary fashion industry a hands on experience in many aspects of design, sample development, sales and marketing, at a dynamic, emerging fashion brand as it grows. I Still Love You NYC is a brand on the rise, with expanding online marketplace, wholesale relationships with Nasty Gal, Dollskill and Patricia Fields, and other global retail clientele, as well as ongoing custom work for high profile celebrities and entertainers such as Madonna, Lady Gaga, Beyonce and many others. In addition, ISLYNYC pieces are regularly featured in many editorials in magazines such as Vogue, Elle, WWD, Harpers Bazaar, Nylon, Creem and many others. This affords the interns we select the rare opportunity to be in a small, multidisciplinary team, hands-on with the internal workings of a rapidly growing fashion business. Our internship program offers candidates a valuable perspective on both the creative and business aspects of how an independent fashion label goes from entrepreneurial endeavor to established brand.

This program is recommended for students interested in avant garde New York fashion, eager to understand all the factors that go into building a successful fashion brand, and who want to work in an entrepreneurial environment directly with the owner and creative director.

Candidates must be able to work 2 to 3 days a week from 10am-6pm at our studio at the Morgan Fine Arts Building in Greenpoint, Brooklyn. We are happy to work with schools to give school credit. We cannot help with housing, but we do provide lunch and interns will most likely receive jewelry, also if they need help with transportation we can provide a stipend. We also offer resume assistance detailing their duties here and the opportunity to get a letter of recommendation at the end of their internship.

We are looking for interns in both design and marketing, but if they feel competent in areas from both, we can create a schedule where they can work in both areas. The following are "guidelines” for experience, but we understand that a lot of the experience comes on the job, and we do not want to discourage talented candidates, ready to work, eager for experience and interested in our brand, so we are happy to assist hard working students in learning some of these necessary skills.
