Jamie Wei Huang Spring 2015
Quality tailoring combined with refined outlines is the ethos of Jamie Wei Huang's London-based label. For spring, the collection took references from everyday uniforms. Basketball players, police officers and even the tried-and-true British banker played a part in making the season. Her interpretation took the basics to the next level while showing her commitment to construction, use of texture and clean lines for a power lineup geared for the woman that wants to speak with her clothes. A mashup of clean, boxy and feminine silhouettes was the story. Oversized shorts, pants and low rise slacks combined with sexy leather bandeaus gave off that effortless minimalist feel. Her sapphire and jacquard bombers hit on fresh lightweight outerwear options. And, most dresses and shirts were topped off with pocket straps, leather harnesses and neck details to give pieces edge in just the right way. Standouts included the harness top combined with a fluffy pink sheep skin along with the checkered black and white leather strap dress. Her shoes, which included a mix of platforms and heels along with leather accessories were icing to it all.
