Meet BIDE Market, a new and refreshing Chicago-based market launching this September that will focus on sustainability and thoughtful connections between makers, consumers and small-business champions. Launched and curated by Parisa Morris, Founder of Town & Anchor, an all-natural, zero waste and vegan company, BIDE Market will be the first of its kind.

They recently launched an open call for brands in the accessories, apparel, beauty/body products and home décor categories. US-based and international designers are welcome, but must adhere to their sustainability standards.

From the beginning of my business, I’ve dreamt of a market I could call my own,” said Parisa Morris, founder of Town & Anchor. “While markets are a great time to meet customers in person and speak about our products and their skincare needs, I always felt there was something missing. With BIDE, I wanted to create a shopping experience for both the customer and vendor to truly connect. Sustainability is a crucial component of our core brand ethos – BIDE offers consumers the comfort of knowing all brands are creating a positive impact on the world and I hope it creates a community of like-minded vendors who are passionate about the same things.

BIDE Market plans to stand out by being plastic-free and vegan while also asking vendors to adhere to strict sustainability standards. The event will also host speakers, presentations on sustainable topics, demos and DIY activities. Guests will be able to download their app which will provide a complete schedule for the day while also avoiding unnecessary waste.
