Vee Lapnarongchai wants his woman to feel confident and cool wherever they go. That’s why his knitwear line SVEE is made up of soft fabrics, easy-to-wear silhouettes and pieces that can be layered, played in and dressed up in. Once a designer at Derek Lam and Micheal Kors, he learned the realities of a woman’s life and is now dressing for these moments.
He looks at his spring/summer 2014 from the lens of a costal countryside. He says his inspiration is the vivid “taste of the salty caramel air from the sea is combined with the sweet aromas coming from the local harvests from the fields.” And, for these carefree days of the season, there’s effortless running pants and shorts in muted colors. Pair these pieces with his remixed Mondrian sweaters or any of the lightweight styles available in apricot, cobalt or kelly green and there’s a perfect matchup. For a chic bohemian feel, the black and white tribal-like crotchet sweater and tank are spot on. To sum it up, just like he said, the collection is “simple, relaxed and just enough to feel fresh again.”
