This January, there are plenty of sourcing trade shows for emerging fashion and accessory designers to visit in New York. If you’re looking for inspiration, research, to buy or connect with manufacturers and vendors, you should check out these five shows:
1. DG Expo Jan 12-13
This two day textile and trim show was created for emerging designers and small manufactures. Companies exhibiting range from mills, convertors, importers and distributors who have low minimums and may have items in stock. The show also has various educational seminars.
Premiere Vision brings you a global range of the top mills, textile design companies and accessory (buttons zip, trims, etc..) manufactures. The show is broken out into three key categories: accessories, fabrics and textile/surface design complete with a trend area featuring highlights for the season.
Indigo, their sister show focuses on textile design for the fashion and home industries. This season, it will host over 125 exhibitors which include the top studios and trend agencies to offer designs for knits, prints, embroideries and more.
Both shows will offer a variety of seminars.
3. Print Source NY January 13-14
Print Source is one of the premier shows for surface and textile design in the United States. It features hundreds of collections by international surface and textile design studios and agents from around the world. Covering mens, women’s and children’s apparel along with many other segments, designers can find a variety of resources and inspiration.
4. Texworld USA January 19-21
This international trade shows brings together a range of apparel textile suppliers and buyers. Designers can meet with a variety of vendors and see popular and affordable apparel fabrics, trims and accessories for women, men, juniors and children’s categories. Attendees will also have access to trend areas and hear about new and innovative textiles. A variety of seminars will also be held throughout the show.
5. City Source January 21
Created by FIT in partnership with the Garment District Alliance and GIDC, City Source features New York-based fashion manufacturers and ancillary resources where designers can meet with pattern makers, manufactures, sample and trim shops. For the first time, they are hosting 7 free production workshops.
