Stitch Collective The City Bag by Omar Aguirre

Emerging Designer of the Week: Omar Aguirre for Stitch Collective

Stitch Collective The City Bag by Omar Aguirre

Emerging-Designer-USA-Flag2Just in time for spring, the City Bag will make its debut. A collaboration between Stitch Collective, the new fashion brand that holds design contests for emerging designers to build their inventory and Omar Aguirre, a recent Parsons grad and now designer at Tim Coppens.

He tells us, the bag was created for the metropolitan woman. Simply put: “the city girl needs to carry a thousand things.” With this in mind, he designed it to be large enough to fit a laptop and included details like a back pocket for a cell phone or easy-to-access items. In a durable gray leather with emerald handles, the color combo is not only on trend for the season, but also holds a sophisticated structure. It also shows what can happen when brands give fresh talent a platform to design and create good work.
